Album finished

Well, it’s finally done.

I’m not quite sure when I started doing the recording for my album, but I’m fairly sure it was sometime in the early summer.

Since then it’s been sporadic recording sessions with Theo, and subsequent mixing sessions in between. It’s been a really fun experience, and Theo has provided the prefect balance of professional quality sound engineering and chill disposition.  It’s been a sweet environment to record in…  100% stress free and inspiring in >1 sense of the word.  The album will have 6 songs when it’s done. Another song, a cover I did of a song by Nicholas Barron, off the Candyrat roster, can’t be on the album, but will always be available on the myspace/here for a free download (once the albums done).

The six songs are as follows:

1. Discovery

2. Falling of seasons

3. Tankards of mead

4. Beautiful dreams arn’t hard to find

5. Isla’s Jig

6. Weatherly green, book of the world

The 4th and 6th are songs I’m pretty sure no one other than me and Theo have heard… which to me is exciting, since anyone who knows me well enough has been a victim of me jamming my rough mixes down their throats until I got some feedback. Some new material will be a refreshing break perhaps.

Anyways..  if all goes well, the album will be available for purchase in mid-late December.  It will be 5$

It’s that cheap because this is not with the goal of making money.. I just want to get the album out there and in the hands of people who are looking for some chill, kind of off the beaten path acoustic music.

I hope you’ll pick up a copy, or at least check out the tunes I’ve got currently on Myspace, as they are mixed tracks that will be appearing on the album. When the album is released, the tracks will come off of myspace, but until then, feel free to listen as much as you want.

I’m writing this at school on one of the wonderfully comfy lounge couches, and class is fast approaching, so I’ll leave you with an inspirational quote:
Music doesn’t lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music.

A wee bit o’ radio play.

This past Wednesday, a pretty cool thing happened to me. Last weekend I sent a couple of songs from my EP to the big kahuna (ish) of the Conestoga Radio station. I got an email back saying it wasn’t quite the material they were looking for their main station programming, which is mostly new rock. My hopes were a bit dashed, but he said he sent it to a few other people who run different programs on the station. One of those programs, Pull the Plug, hosted by Carolyn, Shannon and Adam, is an all-acoustic show that airs Wednesday nights from 10pm-midnight. Wednesday night I got a message from Shannon saying that they had enjoyed the material I sent, and put it on air!

F**kin’ A! .. were the words, if maybe a bit calmer-spoken, that I said. I was, and am very stoked that some of my songs were deemed interesting enough to put on air, (and also well-mixed enough, thanks to Theo Posthumus).

There is a live steam of the show posted every Wednesday online. When it comes up I’ll be sure to post the link through facebook, or here, or what have you, so you can check out the programming. They seem like a bunch of pretty cool folk.. and you might hear one of my tunes at some point.

On November 4th, it would mean a hell of a lot to me if you would all tune in and listen to the live stream. I’ll be going in and spending a couple of hours with the hosts of Pull the Plug, to talk, have fun, and play 4 or 5 live songs. I hope to see some of you listening.. it should be good times had by all.

For those who haven’t listened to the new material from the upcoming EP, I’ve posted nearly all the songs that are already recorded and some mixed on Myspace @

The songs will be there until the release of the album, to give you all a solid idea of what the general feel of the material is like, in case you might want to get a copy. (hint hint)

Peace and love,
