Hugo RB – Singer/Songwriter

A cultural venture into the life and thoughts of a simple Canadian.

Bio

This page is somewhat redundant at the moment. Chances are, for now if you’re checking this out, you know-ish who I am.

For those who don’t, I’m Hugo Rousseaux-Bridle (roo-so bry-dal). I’m an 19 year old college student living in Kitchener, Ontario. I’m currently going to College for business, but am transferring into Graphic design, mainly because some aspects of business are about as interesting/exciting as watching grass grow (there’s a double meaning there. try and figure it out).

I’m kind of a strange person. A bit awkward in some cases, introverted in others, calm and outgoing most of the time, and rarely on the same plane of reality as you are.

My two main passions are Art and Music. Art started up a fair while before music did. When I was younger I was obsessed with copying pictures from books, especially medieval figures. These days, and probably for the past 4 years, my main thing in art is expressions. Faces, figures, lips, noses, eyes not on the same level, outrageous eyebrows and the like are all frequently-used paints on my creative palette.

On the music side, that’s been a solid adventure the last few years. From band stuff at high school with a small gathering of purely awesome people, to a random attempt at a loop-pedal based jazz/funk trio, to ever-continuing learnings and tidbits on acoustic. Music represents an escape from life and into life all at the same time. Everyone would be stuck in a very boring world, devoid of rhythm, of beat, and of feeling, if music did not exist.

Thankfully it’s impossible for it not to exist.. unless nothing made sound. Everything you hear can be classified in some way into music.

To give you a look into the kind of stuff I like to listen to, here’s a list:

There’s new stuff I’ve gotten into recently, like the Answering Machine, Citizen Cope, Temper Trap, and Kaki King that arn’t mentioned in that list, but it gives you a damn good idea.

That pretty much wraps it up without getting complicated. I love people, music, art, nature, and also technology. If you love at least 2/5 of those things, chances are we’d get along very well.

Peace and love,

HugoRB
